How do Educators get selected? Educators need to demonstrate an excellent command of both written & verbal English, a warm caring personality, & enjoy working & playing with children.
They need to provide a developmentally appropriate & stimulating play programme based on Te Whariki the NZ Early Childhood Curriculum which is developed in conjunction with and supported by A Kidz World Coordinator.
Their homes must comply with the Ministry of Education Home Based Care Order, which requires that homes are safe, clean & hygienic with a fenced outdoor play area.
Educators homes must be smoke, drug and alcohol free while children are in care, safe and secure.
Prospective Educators must provide a medical reference from their doctor & three referees to be checked & all members of the home 17 years & over will have a police check.
What is expected of Educators? As an Educator you will be required to complete all administration tasks in a timely manner e.g. timesheets are to be completed correctly & sent to the office each fortnight.
Termly Individual Child Profile Sheets are to be completed and Profile Scrapbooks are to be kept up to date for each child, this is done with guidance and support from your Co-ordinator. It is also encouraged that you attend weekly playgroup sessions.
You will be required to complete a First Aid Certificate and will be encouraged to undertake training towards the New Zealand Certificate in Family Daycare.
As an Educator to A Kidz World you will receive earnings for childcare services undertaken in your home. Based online requirements set by the MOE Home Based care order.
You will have access to our extensive free toy & equipment library & be provided with art & craft resources & ongoing support from our Co-ordinators who are trained registered Early Childhood teachers.
