A Kidz World is offering the 20 hours Early Childhood Education Government approved subsidy for our Home Based Childcare & Education services. This entitles every 3 and 4 year old child enrolled with A Kidz World to receive 20 hours ECE education per week.

What is 20 Hours ECE?
20 Hours ECE (Early Childhood Education) is a Government subsidy available to 3 and 4 year old children in participating Kohanga Reo and teacher-led services (kindergartens, centre-based and home-based). It has been designed to make Early Childhood Education more accessible for all Families: 20 Hours ECE is not income tested and everyone who has a 3 or 4 year old child is automatically entitled to use it.
By funding ECE, the Government is giving you more choices about your child's Early Childhood Education.
How does it work?
All 3 and 4 year olds at an ECE service giving this extra option (like A Kidz World) can get 20 Hours ECE for up to 6 hours a day, up to 20 hours a week. This cannot be carried over to another week, be claimed on a public holiday or if your Educator or Nanny is unable to provide care on a booked day.
20 Hours ECE starts when a child turns 3 and finishes when they turn 5.
How do I get 20 Hours ECE?
Your child must be enrolled with us. You must decide which of the enrolled hours, up to a maximum of 6 per day and 20 hours per week, will be covered by 20 Hours ECE.
You must complete the Attestation Form supplied by A Kidz World. The Attestation Form is a legal document. By signing the Attestation Form you are confirming to the Ministry of Education:
- how many hours of 20 Hours ECE your child receives on each day of the week at A Kidz World and any other service they attend
- that your child does not attend more than the maximum hours allowed (20) across all the ECE services they attend per week
- that you understand you must change your child's Attestation Form every time you change your child's hours. Attestation forms must be kept up to date.
Can my child receive 20 Hours ECE at more than one service?
Yes. You will need to write on the Attestation Form how many hours of 20 Hours ECE your child will receive at each service. For example, your child attends A Kidz World for three hours in the morning, and another ECE service for four hours in the afternoon. You must decide how to spread the six 20 Hours ECE hours between the two services and write this on the Attestation Form.
What if I'm in a shared custody arrangement?
If you have shared custody of your child and you each have separate ECE arrangements, you must ensure the Attestation Forms confirm that your child is not enrolled for more than 6 hours per day and more than 20 hours per week of 20 Hours ECE across all services the child attends.
