What you need to know about being an Educator with A Kidz World:
What is A Kidz World Homebased Childcare & Education Service?
A Kidz World is a privately owned Early Childhood Homebased Childcare & Education Service, approved and chartered with the Ministry of Education. It has been operating since February 2002.
What is Home Based Childcare?
Homebased Childcare enables pre-school children to be cared for in the homes of carefully selected Educators who educate and care for your children. Homebased childcare is an alternative to centre based care, offering small group sizes with a maximum of 4 children under the age of 6 & never more than 2 children under the age of 2.
Small group sizes enable children to build responsive & reciprocal relationships, which is particularly beneficial for children under 2.
Who are the Educators?
A Kidz World Educators range from trained early childhood Educators, qualified teachers, and people willing to have on the job training while studing towars the Open Polytechnic Certificate in Early Childhood Practice (Level 4).
This training is a correspondence course through The Open Polytechnic of New Zealand plus a First Aid Certificate. This training is partly paid for by A Kidz World and may be commenced once children have been placed in your care.
Only the First Aid Certificate is compulsory, however we encourage you to study towards the Open Polytechnic Certificate in Early Childhood Practice (Level 4).
A Kidz World Contracted Educator receives a fortnightly pay depending on amount of childcare hours worked.
Private Independent Contractors are able to charge their own fees and are responsible for all financial arrangements with the parents. In addition an administration allowance will be paid per hour, per preschool child, to a maximum of 6 hours a day, on receipt of signed timesheets to the A Kidz World office each fornight. No administration fee is paid for OSCAR children. Further details about being an Independent Contractor are available from the office.
A Kidz World Nanny/Educator is able to charge their own hourly rate and is responsible for all financial arrangements with the family. As above an administration fee is paid.
