About our Educators

Our Educators have warm & caring personalities. They are carefully selected & enjoy working & playing with children. They provide a developmentally appropriate & stimulating play programme based on Te Whariki the NZ Early Childhood Curriculum.

Educators must meet the requirements as set by The Ministry of Education Home-based Care Order 1992 & subsequent amendments.

• Educators homes will be safe, clean & hygienic with a fenced outdoor play area.
   

• Educators homes must be smoke, drug and alcohol free while children are in care, safe and secure. 

• All members of the Educators home 17 years & over will have a police check. 
   
• Educators must provide a medical reference from their doctor & three referees to be checked.
   
• Educators are encouraged to train towards their NZ Certificate in Family Daycare.  This training is paid for by us.
   
• Educators must gain & maintain a current First Aid Certificate, also paid for by us.
   
• Educators are encouraged to attend additional training opportunities when offered.
   
• Educators receive an hourly rate depending on qualifications

Once a term, for each child the Educator will complete an Individual Child Profile Sheet. This is a record that contains programme planning of what the Educator will be working on with your child for the term, observations and an evaluation of how it went. We encourage you to read & give written comment on this, however you must sign it.
